Vredestein is a Netherlands tire brand owned by Apollo Vredestein. The brand is not as well known in America, but the company is over 100 years old. The tires are sold in the U.S. by a few retailers such as the Tire Rack. Interestingly, Vredestein has Giugiaro Design to style the tire tread and sidewalls. They appear to get high marks for rainy weather handling and winter conditions. The Vredestein Quatrac scores highly (9.1-9.2) for wet weather driving in Tire Rack's Grand Touring tire survey.
From the Tire Rack:
The Hitrac All Season is Vredestein's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for drivers of coupes, sedans, crossovers and SUVs looking for a comfortable ride, confident traction, and long tread life. Hitrac All Season tires are designed to deliver pleasant road manners with low tread noise and a smooth ride, combined with satisfying performance and responsive cornering with good traction in dry, wet and wintry conditions, including light snow.Read all Vredestein HiTrac All Season reviews at Tire Rack
The Quatrac is the successor to the Quatrac 5. With such good reviews for either one, we would be happy buying the old as
well as the new.
From the Tire Rack:
The Quatrac is Vredestein's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans and station wagons looking for good dry and wet performance combined with confident light snow traction. The Quatrac meets the industry’s severe snow service requirements and is branded with the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.
The Quatrac features an all-season tread compound molded into a distinctive, directional, v-shaped pattern. Larger outboard blocks increase dry road cornering along with a connected center element helping maintain handling and steering response. The resulting large, open grooves effectively evacuate standing water for increased hydroplaning resistance and combine with two types of sipes for confident control in wet conditions. High-density siping and numerous off-angle blocks create the biting edges needed to provide light snow traction for stability in wintry weather conditions.Read all Vredestein Quatrac All Season reviews at Tire Rack
The Quatrac 5 appears to be replaced by the Quatrac. With such good reviews for either one, we would be happy buying the old as
well as the new. We do see there are limited sizes available between 13" and 16".
From the Tire Rack:
The Quatrac 5 is Vredestein's Grand Touring All-Season tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans, station wagons and crossover vehicles looking for confident performance in the dry and wet, plus premium light snow traction. The Quatrac 5 meets the industry's severe snow service requirements and is designed to be a one-tire solution for drivers in environments that experience all four seasons, but don't receive sufficient snowfall to require a dedicated winter tire.
The Quatrac 5 features a high-silica tread compound molded into a multiple condition-focused, asymmetric pattern. The outboard shoulder and circumferential groove are designed for traction, handling and steering precision in dry and wet conditions, with low void ratio and large, stiff tread blocks. The inboard rib and inside shoulder are tuned for confident performance in wet and wintry conditions, with wide, circumferential grooves and lateral notches to evacuate water and slush from the contact patch, along with high-density, winter-focused zigzag sipes that help deliver the traction needed to receive the three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) symbol.Read all Vredestein Quatrac 5 reviews at Tire Rack
The Vredestein Hypertrac All Season are designed to provide ultra high performance in all four seasons (rainy and light snow handling). We would compare these to the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus and the Pilot Sport All Season 4. All three of these tires sit near the top of the Tire Rack survey of Ultra High Performance All-Season tires.

The Vredestein Wintrac Pro has the highest winter/snow (9.0) sub-score on
Tire Rack's Performance Winter Tire survey.
Sizes are offered from 17" all the way up to 22".
From the Tire Rack:
The Wintrac Pro is Vredestein's Performance Winter / Snow tire developed for drivers of sports cars, sporty coupes, performance sedans and high-powered crossovers and SUVs. Designed to provide confident control and maximum grip in cold, dry and wet conditions plus sure-footed traction in snow and on ice, the Wintrac Pro combines advanced technology with an attractive, Giugiaro-styled design.
The directional tread pattern of the Wintrac Pro is molded from a resin- and silica-enhanced compound that improves traction for increased handling and braking performance on wet, snow-covered and icy roads. Broad shoulders help maximize lateral grip and high-speed cornering in cold, dry and wet conditions. The footprint shape is engineered to provide direct response to steering inputs while also efficiently evacuating water from the contact patch to resist hydroplaning. High-angle sipes in the shoulders optimize handling in snowy or icy conditions, while horizontal sipes in the center of the tread enhance longitudinal traction for maximum braking and acceleration.Read all Vredestein Wintrac Pro reviews at Tire Rack
